Super Saturday

This afternoon I’m attending my first ever Super Saturday. The benefit, which is celebrating its 15th aniversary is hosted this summer by InStyle, Donna Karan, Kelly Ripa, and Ariel Foxman.

Tons of celebrities come out each July to support the fantastic cause, all funds go to Ovarian Cancer Research, and get in on all the fun. To name a few of the afternoon’s activities, a Color Club Color Bar offering manis and pedis and a Crumbs Bakeshop DIY table filled with sweet treats.

I’m super excited too about the colorful and very summery outfit I chose for the ocassion. I’m wearing a fun pink parachute skirt and a white lacey racerback tank from Calypso, and rose gold Jack Rogers. Of course I’m accessorizing with favorite sunnies from Oliver Peoples and an old Prada orange clutch. I can’t wait to spend the afternoon, in honor of a great cause, with friends, checking out all the great booths, and of course grabbing up a great goodie bag, xo!

Jennifer Gilbert’s “I Never Promised You a Goodie Bag” book party

It was a very wet and rainy day on Monday, but that never halts the social calendar in New York, it only makes things crazier! I was invited to attend Jennifer Gilbert’s book party for her first book, “I Never Promised You a Goodie Bag.” Coincidently, President Obama was having dinner on Park Avenue on my block, so between the rain, blocked off streets, and police getting downtown was no easy accomplishment.

Jen and Samantha Yanks

I decided to wear a short dress with oversized red and pink flowers on it, an oldie from Roberta Freymann, to add a little sunshine to the rain filled day. I wanted the dress to speak for itself, so I complimented it with subtle black leather Manolos and a black YSL clutch.

fortune cookies with “Jennisms” in them were handed out at the event

The party was fabulous from the moment I walked in. To the carefully selected drink selection, to the casual sitting areas on the closed terrace, to a fun billboard across the street with Jen and her book, it was a fun celebratory night to remember.

It was also nice to see a bevy of guests, I later learned over 500 friends and acquaintances had come to support Jen including several of the Real Housewives. Jill Zarin was there with her husband Bobby and later on that evening Kelly Bensimon came to show her support.

Monday night proved that nothing stops someone as hardworking as Jen to celebrate her new success with all her friends and family. Jen’s book, I Never Promised You a Goodie Bag, is out now!

Zac Posen to Gotham Cover Celebration

When I’m determined to wear something I wear it even if that means working around the weather. Last night it rained all night, but I was more than determined to stick with the dress choice I had made earlier in the week. I was invited to the exclusive cover party for the April issue of Gotham Magazine and I knew I had to dress for success. Though I browsed through what seemed like racks of dresses before I found the one, when I came across the Z Spoke for Zac Posen number I knew it was meant to be.

THE DRESS

I found it while doing some online window shopping, which I suggest when in need of inspiration, and came across the number at Scoop. When I made it to the store to try I fell head over heels for it right there. Though it was strapless, a style I usually don’t wear, I loved the detail above the bodice and the flower pattern was exactly appropriate for the occasion. It was an easy dress to wear with nude Louboutins and a YSL black clutch. Of course I accessorized with fun Chinchilla from Essie, but kept the jewels minimal allowing the pattern of the dress to speak for itself, xo.

THE SHOE

Limoland x Jambox Launch Event at Serafina

Talk about summer weather! It was beautiful out yesterday and I couldn’t get enough of the summer like temperatures. Summer temperatures mean shorter dresses minus the tights and sandals instead of boots. It was the perfect evening to make those adjustments to my wardrobe. I was especially excited to attend last night’s event because I adore the brand LimoLand, fans include Liv Tyler and Christian Louboutin. It’s a fun and colorful line that specializes in men’s bathing suits and eccentric unisex tees and sweatshirts.

Ever since I interviewed owner Jean Pigozzi a few months I’ve been excited about the line, so it was a pleasure to be invited to the LimoLand x Jambox launch event at the newest Serafina location in the Meatpacking district. I’m also a huge fan of Serafina so it was treat to be invited to their newest location a week before the actual opening.

CHAN LUU BRACELET

Last night I decided to wear J.Brand beige jeans with a red and blue Joie tank and rose gold Jack Roger sandals and accessorized with a Chan Luu bracelet, a red Goyard tote, and Oliver Peoples sunglasses. The event was super fun with delicious truffle pizza and other items from Serafina’s tasting menu, a fun raffle, and a great appearance by LimoLand owner, Jean. It was definitely a night of celebration and a welcome introduction to all that the summer holds, xo.
