There are some new features popping up on the fashion dish including a new interview series titled Five Questions, which we kicked off yesterday with a fun dish with Allure editor in chief, Linda Wells. Today we’re introducing Tidbit Tuesday, a fun series that’ll include relevant articles on film, tech, exhibits, and more. It’s an interactive way for me to share what I’m loving every week and where I’m finding daily doses of inspiration. But, feel free to share you’re own tidbits in the comment section or email me and they could be featured in the upcoming weeks. Today’s tidbit is an excerpt from an article by Joe Queenan titled, “My 6,128 Favorite Books” featured in the Wall Street Journal last week. Queenan hones in on some ideas I’ve recently been considering, most specifically my own lifelong affair with books. You can read the adaptation in full here!

Electronic books are ideal for people who value the information contained in them, or who have vision problems, or who have clutter issues, or who don’t want other people to see that they are reading books about parallel universes where nine-eyed sea serpents and blind marsupials join forces with deaf Valkyries to rescue high-strung albino virgins from the clutches of hermaphrodite centaurs, but they are useless for people engaged in an intense, lifelong love affair with books. Books that we can touch; books that we can smell; books that we can depend on. Books that make us believe, for however short a time, that we shall all live happily ever after.
